After earning a college scholarship to play baseball, I tore a tendon in my rotator cuff that first year. I had struggled with arm and elbow problems before, so I thought I would work through it like I always had. However, it was not long before I discovered this time was different.
I had to resign my spot in order to rehab my shoulder, and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Quitting something I was passionate about was bittersweet. On one hand, I knew I would be better off in physical therapy and the team should have someone at their peak, but on the other hand, baseball was a huge part of my life.
