About Alex

Alex Maloney Frisco, TX Real Estate Agent Headshot

Alex Maloney

As I walked away from the field, I had a nagging fear that it was over. As I faced the end of my baseball career before it even had a chance to begin, I was left wondering what to do next.

After earning a college scholarship to play baseball, I tore a tendon in my rotator cuff that first year. I had struggled with arm and elbow problems before, so I thought I would work through it like I always had. However, it was not long before I discovered this time was different.

I had to resign my spot in order to rehab my shoulder, and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Quitting something I was passionate about was bittersweet. On one hand, I knew I would be better off in physical therapy, and the team should have someone at their peak, but on the other hand, baseball was a huge part of my life.

Over the next year, I rehabbed and practiced. My throw was nearly as good as before my injury, and I tried to join a team at my new school. However, circumstances made it impossible to start again after a season long break. I gave it my all, but by graduation, it was clear that the chapter had ended.

I have always been a people person. Growing up with an older brother diagnosed with Down Syndrome, I learned to connect with anybody, no matter their background. Also, from a young age, I became involved as a volunteer with the Special Olympics. My family is hugely important to me, and my brother is the glue that holds us all together.

I worked a couple of jobs after college until one day something clicked within me. My dad is a mortgage lender, my mom is an AVP for JPMorgan Chase in the Home Lending Department, my aunt is a real estate agent, numerous family members are investors, and my grandfather has been in real estate for over 50 years! Real estate is in my blood. I spent my whole life immersed in that world, and I always loved houses. So, one day I came home and told my parents, "I am getting my real estate license."

Something changed in me - I found a greater purpose, a passion like what I experienced before with baseball. It was not an easy start, as I initially worked over 40 hours a week as a personal trainer and another 50 to 60 hours as a REALTOR®. And yet, every time it got tough, I pushed through. As an athlete, I am an extremely competitive person, and once I have a goal, nothing will stop me from reaching it. Through real estate, I found the perfect opportunity to channel that passion into helping others.

I have been a REALTOR® for many years and have won prestigious awards such as the #2-ranked REALTOR® on social media in the state of Texas, REALTOR® Rookie of the Year, Largest Single Real Estate Commission at my brokerage, D- Magazine, America’s Best, RealTrends, Real Producers, COMPASS Pro-Athlete Agent, and more! These accomplishments have given me the ability to create my very own team at Compass called “America’s Realty Group”. My team has recently been nationally ranked as one of the best teams in America and couldn’t be more proud! I love what I do and the people I get to help every day. It has also given me the opportunity to give back by donating 10% of each commission to the charity or church of my client’s choice at closing. There are so many organizations and people that need help, and I give back because I know I will do whatever it takes to provide for myself and others.

What I realized along the way is that sometimes we do not see it at the time, but everything works out for a reason. If I had not injured my shoulder, I might not be here as a REALTOR®. Today, I could not be more grateful for where life has taken me. Whenever I have time, I enjoy working out, wakeboarding, snowboarding, golfing, and being with friends. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is helping my clients find a home.

Wherever you are on your real estate journey, I always start by listening because you know exactly what you are looking for. It is up to me to create the road map to your success, and I will do so by adapting to your unique lifestyle. We are in this journey together, and it matters to me that you get the results you want. I donate 10% of my commission to charity because I am not in this industry for personal gain. My passion is to help people get where they are going. I have spent my entire life around real estate with a whole family in the industry, so I have the experience not only to help you get through this process, but to do so with minimal stress. Whether this is your forever home or your "for now" home, it is an investment, and one that I will ensure benefits you in the years to come. Once the transaction is over, I will continue to help you through every new chapter as your lifelong REALTOR®.

"Alex sold my home in less than a week! It was a long-distance sale, so I know I can sell with him near and far away! It really put my mind at ease that I can use him wherever I go. I will definitely use him for any further transactions!"
